Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what BabyLog collects, why, and your rights. We try to keep it short. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run BabyLog.
Account
The email address you sign up with, and an optional profile (nickname, avatar, language, timezone). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier from that provider. We never receive your password.
Content you log
Information about your family and child (name, photo, basic profile), and the events you record (feeding, sleep, growth, photos, notes, and similar). This is what BabyLog is for. See our Children's Information Notice.
AI features
When you use AI Coach or AI-assisted entry, your messages and photos are processed by AI service providers we contract with. Our agreements prohibit them from using your content to train their models. AI output is informational and not medical advice.
Operational
Payment records from Apple (we never see your card details), IP address and basic device info for security and debugging, push notification tokens if you opt in, and crash and usage analytics that do not include the content of your records. If you email support, we keep that correspondence.
Why we collect it
- To provide BabyLog to you and your invited family members.
- To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
- To process subscriptions and grant Pro features.
- To send you transactional messages and any notifications you opted into.
- To diagnose bugs and improve BabyLog.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data and do not show third-party ads inside BabyLog.
Photos and camera
You may grant the app access to your camera and photo library to attach photos or set avatars. Permission is optional; the app works without it. Photos you select are uploaded so they are available to your invited family members across devices.
Notifications
If you opt into push notifications, we send you reminders, family activity updates, and account messages. You can disable push at any time in your OS or in-app Settings.
Sharing of information
We share information only when necessary:
- With family members you invite. Activity records and child information are shared with members of the same family.
- With service providers that help us run BabyLog (cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, push notifications, AI providers, payments). They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- With authorities, when required by valid legal process.
- In case of a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep it
- While your account is active: we keep your data so BabyLog works for you.
- If you delete an event: it is removed within 30 days from active systems and within 90 days from backups.
- If you delete your account: all your data is removed within 30 days from active systems and within 90 days from backups, except where we must retain certain records to comply with the law.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — most of it is visible in the app; for a full export, email us.
- Correct inaccurate data — most fields are editable in-app.
- Delete your account and data, from in-app Settings or by emailing us.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have additional rights under those laws, including data portability and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, and we limit who can access production systems. See our Security Overview. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a breach affecting you, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
Children
BabyLog is intended for parents and guardians (18+). Children do not create accounts. Information about children is provided by adults. See Children's Information Notice.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we update the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via the app or email.
